Zongo Chiefs and imams have organized special prayers for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer and Presidential Aspirant, to secure victory in the upcoming December elections.
Scores of Muslims in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, gathered to pray fervently to Allah for the success of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in this year’s elections.
Their aim is to see the NPP retain power.
The New Juaben North Nasara Coordinator of the NPP, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, who orchestrated the spiritual exercise, stated that the prayers were intended to support the NPP administration in winning the upcoming December polls.
The prayers is also to protect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from any accidents during his tour in the Eastern Region.
In his speech, the Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Amudani Sulemana, urged the youth to refrain from activities that could incite violence during and after the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
