Yvonne Chaka Chaka arrives in Ghana for African Legends Night on October 5

The excitement surrounding the 2024 African Legends Night is building with the arrival of legendary South African musician, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, in Accra.

Affectionately known as the “Princess of Africa,” Yvonne touched down at the Kotoka International Airport Thursday afternoon to a warm Ghanaian welcome as she prepares for her highly anticipated performance at the 2024 African Legends Night at the Grand Arena, October 5th.

The music icon was greeted by officials of Global Media Alliance, the event organizers and some selected Media and some fans, all eager to witness her electrifying stage presence once again.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka is one of the headline acts for this year’s African Legends Night, joining an esteemed lineup that includes Ghana’s own Okyeame Kwame, George Jahraa, and Adane Best.

Speaking to the media shortly after her arrival, Yvonne expressed her excitement to be back in Ghana, a country she considers her “home away from home.”

“I am thrilled to be back in Ghana for such a special event. African Legends Night is a beautiful celebration of our rich musical heritage, and I can’t wait to share the stage with other African legends. Ghana has always been kind to me, and I am ready to give my all to the audience on October 5th,” said Yvonne with a beaming smile.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s career has spanned over three decades, with hits such as “Umqombothi”, “I’m Burning Up”, and “Thank You Mr. DJ” cementing her place in the annals of African music history.

Her music has not only transcended borders but also generations, making her one of the most beloved and enduring voices in the African music industry.

Since its inception, the African Legends Night has become synonymous with excellence in music and entertainment, consistently delivering world-class performances that celebrate the best of African music.

The event has featured some of the continent’s most celebrated artists, including Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddie Meiway, Kanda Bongoman, Amakye Dede, and Daddy Lumba among others.
