Operations manager of Aduana Stars, Mr. George Gyawu has debunked reports in the media suggesting his outfit has parted ways with Coach Yussif Abubakar.
He says the coach remains at post as head of the team’s technical team.
News making rounds after the Dormaa-based club lost 2-1 to Asante Kotoko on match day 15 of the Zylofon Cash Premier League suggested the gaffer was shown the exit following their abysmal performance.
But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate sports show, Mr. Gyawu revealed the club has not considered such a decision and is surprised about where the news emanated from.
According to him, Yussif Abubakar is at post and will lead the team to Obuasi on Wednesday as they play AshantiGold in an outstanding fixture of the 2017/2018 Zylofon Cash Premier League.
“We as a management have not parted ways with coach Abubakar. He remains our head coach and we have a running contract with him. The news of his sack is baseless and must be ignored”, George said.
The Dormaa-based side was reported to be courting former Hearts of Oak coac Frank Nuttal to replace the beleaguered trainer, Yussif Abubakar.
