You’re not in your movie industry; be more serious to assist Agric Minister – Habib Iddrisu to Dumelo

The First Deputy Minority Whip, Habib Iddrisu, has urged Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, to be supportive and take his role seriously.

Speaking before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, the Tolon MP cautioned Dumelo against treating the ministry as the movie industry.

“If you go to the ministry, try to assist your minister. The ministry is huge, and you should not try to jump the gun. And also note that when you go to the ministry, you are not in your movie industry as you are.

“Try to be as serious as you can so that you can be able to assist your minister to succeed,” Iddrisu advised.

For his part, the first-time Ayawaso West Wuogon MP expressed his desire to inspire Ghanaians to pursue their passions and excel in their chosen fields.

“I want to inspire people to be able to follow their passion, follow what they want to do, and do it and do it well,” Dumelo stated.

Reflecting on his career, he touted his achievements in acting, business, and politics, acknowledging that while he had excelled in film and entrepreneurship, he was still striving for success in the political arena.

“I’m a man of probably many talents. In the movie industry, I think I did quite well. In the business industry, I think I’m doing quite well. And in politics, I’m yet to do well,” he admitted.
