You’re not a stakeholder to ‘dictate’ for Zylofon – Kumi Guitar tells Stonebwoy

-

The first artiste signed by Zylofon Media, Kumi Guitar, has advised Dancehall act Stonebwoy to refrain from dragging the name of the Media brand, Zylofon through the mud.
Chaos broke and gunshots were fired last Saturday at the Paloma Hotel in Accra as music producer, Bulldog allegedly attacked Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy and his crew who were holding a mini concert at the hotel.
According to reports, Bulldog and Zylofon’s Transport Manager, Mr Eric Amponsah attempted to forcefully recover the Zylofon-branded car being used Stonebwoy hence the confusion.

But speaking on Zylofon Radio after the event, Kumi urged Stonebwoy to be plain on his decisions if he intends to stay or part ways with the Zylofon brand.
“Stonebwoy can go higher than he is [in the industry]. If he is not comfortable, he should come speak with Management. Before he was signed, there was Shatta Wale. No one informed me [Kumi Guitar] any artiste will be signed on Zylofon [before he was signed]”, he said.
“Stonebwoy is not a shareholder to take decisions in the company. I am doing what I am supposed to do. I want his fans to know Zylofon is not a bad company. It is the notion that we don’t know what we are doing. He should address every issue he has with management”,  he maintained.

According to Kumi, as the first artiste signed onto the label, he equally shares the responsibility if any ‘twitch’ affects Nana Appiah Mensah’s brand, the reason he would be active rather than apathetic in these moments.
“Zylofon boss wanted to work with me alone. But talking to him, he wanted to help the industry. I told him to help all of us… so if we have gotten to this level and we drag his name through the mud, it pains me. if it wasn’t me, he wouldn’t be in this space…” the musician maintained.
