The Omanhene of Asante Akyem Domeabra, Baffour Owusu Bediako I has lauded the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for putting chiefs and traditional authorities at the centre of his campaign.
This the chief believes has improved the image of the NPP and changed the perception of some chiefs about the ruling party.
The chief was speaking at a brief ceremony when Napo and his entourage paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.
The visit to the Asante Akyem North constituency was an emergency stop to go participate in the series of party activities on Tuesday on behalf of the flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
In his address, Nana Owusu Bediako I praised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for making chiefs an important feature of his campaign tours
He also praised the NPP running mate for his role in the implementation of the Free SHS policy.
The chief said the policy is the biggest social intervention programme since independence, and that it has reduced the financial burdens of chiefs.
