Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has revealed that significant reforms are underway in Ghana’s public school system.
Speaking in Accra on Sunday on behalf of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Adutwum provided insight into the ongoing changes, emphasizing that the government is committed to transforming the country’s educational landscape.
Dr. Adutwum noted that many of the country’s public schools, including their uniforms, which are predominantly yellow and brown—often referred to as “kokonte”—will soon undergo a complete overhaul.
He assured Ghanaians that under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, the government will continue to build upon the strong foundations laid by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“We are transforming education in Ghana! Soon, you’ll be eager to attend public schools,” Dr. Adutwum declared, underscoring the government’s focus on enhancing both the quality and accessibility of education.
