National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is convinced the erstwhile John Mahama administration cannot take the shine out of the incumbent Akufo-Addo-led government.
According to Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, the Akufo-Addo-led government within its three years in power has left an indelible mark in the lives of Ghanaians which is incomparable.
“Mahama can never take away the shine of president Akufo-Addo because as a son of Savannah region, he was vice president and president of Ghana yet his community cannot even boast of electricity,” he said.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com, Mr Futa said the President Akufo-Addo impact is being felt in every part of Ghana.
“President Akufo-Addo is the Zongo president and must be praised for his efforts in the Zongo communities. He has done a lot and still working hard,” he said confidently.
The comments of the Nasara Coordinator follow claims by former President John Mahama that the Akufo-Addo-led government is misapplying the Zongo Development Fund.
Speaking at a meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Councils, Mr Mahama said the funds, which are meant to alleviate the plight of the Zongo communities, have been channeled into planning and visiting weddings, naming ceremonies and also the cooking of ‘waakye’.
