YEA sends important message to 10,000 graduated artisans

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has successfully graduated its first cohort of 10,000 artisans under its intensive skills training program.

These artisans, who have mastered skills in 10 critical trade areas including carpentry, beauty care, autoworks, POP, welding, glazing, electrical, painting, plumbing, and hairdressing, were celebrated during a ceremony at Valley View University.

CEO Kofi Baah Agyepong, speaking at the event, described the graduation as a “game-changer” for the nation.

He praised the newly trained artisans, calling them “young game changers” who are now equipped to contribute significantly to Ghana’s development.

In a subsequent interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, the Director of Administration at YEA, Frederick Dodou, stressed the importance of the initiative.

“History has been made with the establishment of this program,” he said, highlighting the agency’s commitment to equipping the youth with high-quality tools and gadgets.

Mr. Dodou stressed that, the program is not just about financial investment but about dedication to the youth.

“It’s not all about money but commitment,” he noted, adding that YEA consistently follows the CEO’s vision for empowering the youth of Ghana.

He assured the public that the equipment provided is of top quality and that all promises made by the agency are being fulfilled.

He encouraged the newly graduated artisans to take their work seriously, especially those who have received starter packs.

“Those who have gotten their starter pack should be serious with their work,” he urged.

Mr. Dodou also advised them to use the GH Artisan App once it becomes available and to maintain discipline in their craft.
