YahSat launches fast internet service in Ghana

United Arab Emirate (UAE) – based satellite operator, YahSat has launched a Satellite Brand board Service, YahClick in Ghana, to provide fast internet connection for subscribers in the country.

The company also announced a partnership with regional broadcast and internet service providers Comsys and Teledata.

Managers of Yahsat said using the Ka-band powered by High Throughput Satellite (HTS) spot beam technology, YahClick’s services will enable communities, businesses and the government to unlock their full potential and achieve the level of social and economic development the nation deserves.

“YahClick also will bridge the gap between rural and urban areas as under-served and un-served remote areas will now have unlimited access to internet,” Country Manager for YahSat, Denver Bartman said.

Yahsat’s first satellite Al Yah 1 was successfully launched in April 2011, and the company’s second satellite Al Yah 2 was successfully launched in April 2012 and its third satellite, Al Yah 3, launched on 25 January 2018.

The commercial Ka-band coverage has extended to an additional 20 markets, reaching 60 per cent of Africa’s population and over 95 per cent of Brazil’s population, marking the company’s first entry into Brazil.
