Xavier Sosu retains in Madina constituency seat

The Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has secured another term in office following a decisive victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate garnered an impressive 56,008 votes, far surpassing his closest rival, Robert Lamptey of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who obtained 29,777 votes.

Certified results from the Electoral Commission revealed that a total of 86,880 votes were cast in Madina, with 86,512 deemed valid and 368 rejected ballots.

Independent candidate, Awal Mohammed managed to secure only 727 votes, underscoring Sosu’s dominant position in the constituency.

Sosu’s victory is widely attributed to his track record of impactful developmental projects in Madina.

These include significant improvements in healthcare, enhanced education infrastructure, and initiatives aimed at boosting livelihoods.

His efforts have earned him widespread praise and recognition as a leader who not only advocates for his people but also delivers results.

As Francis-Xavier Sosu prepares to begin his second term, expectations are high among constituents and political observers alike. Many are optimistic that he will build on his achievements, further transforming Madina and setting a benchmark for effective leadership.
