Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews, says his opponent Bernard Antwi Boasiako does not deserve to be a chairman in the region.

To Mr Andrews, Mr Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’, lacks what it takes to be a chairman.

Chairman Wontumi has made an audacious vow to determine who gets elected into executive positions within the NDC from the constituency to the national levels.

He had boasted that his unnoticed influence on the top hierarchy and grassroots of the NDC contributed to the party’s abysmal performance in the 2016 general elections.

As the party goes to Congress on Saturday to elect its national executives, chairman Wontumi has vowed to ensure that he influences the NDC executives’ elections.

But Mr Akwasi Andrews, replying to Mr Boasiako said his threat should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

“Chairman Wontumi speaks as though he owns everything in this world. We don’t treat his utterances seriously because a person who claims to have influenced our party elections shouldn’t be taken seriously.
