Women’s AFCON: Black Queens Coach calls up 32 players for training camp in Accra

-

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has invited 32 players to a nine-day training camp as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The camp is scheduled to take place from May 3rd to May 12th at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

It will provide head coach Kim Lars Björkegren with the opportunity to assess both home-based and foreign-based players, as he and his technical team work towards finalising the squad for the tournament in Morocco.

Several standout performers from the Women’s Premier League, including players from Police Ladies, Army Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and Tamale Super Ladies, have received call-ups.

In addition, some foreign-based players who were unavailable for previous camps are expected to join this session.

All invited players are expected to report to camp by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 4th. The coaching staff will use the period to evaluate the fitness levels and on-field performance of each player before final selections are made.

The Black Queens are aiming for a strong showing at WAFCON as they push to reclaim their place at the top of women’s football in Africa.
