Woman, 40, shot dead in Bimbilla

A 40-year-old woman, Alhassan Rahinatu, has been shot dead at Alulani, a suburb of Bimbilla in Nanumba North District of the Northern Region.
Her daughter, Kadija Bediako, 14, was also seriously injured in the shoot out.
Northern regional police spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko who confirmed the incident to Adom News said police heard of gunshots in Alulani, a village at Bimbilla around 8:00pm Tuesday.
He said ‘a combined Police/Military patrol team rushed to the area and discovered one female dead body, Alhassan Rahinatu, 40, with gun shot wounds and her daughter Kadija Bediako, 14, was also found with gun shot wounds on the left shoulder.’
According to the Police PRO, the body of the deceased has been deposited at Bimbilla Government Hospital.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the husband of the deceased Abraham Bediako from Andani gate was the target but was not met. The son of the deceased Bediako Kamel 20, who was also in the room escaped unscathed…,” the Police PRO said further.
The injured said to be responding to treatment at the same hospital.
The Police are still investigating the shooting.
No arrest has been made.
