The Acting Winneba Divisional Police Commander, DSP Gabriel Kyei-Yeboah, has urged the residents of Winneba to refrain from taking the law into their own hands by engaging in attacks on individuals and properties within the municipality.
Following incidents of violence after the 2024 General Election, DSP Kyei-Yeboah assured the public that the Ghana Police Service is implementing measures to apprehend all those responsible for the disturbances.
In an interview with Adom News, DSP Kyei-Yeboah called on residents to trust the Police and report any acts of violence or attacks to the authorities, emphasizing the importance of setting a deterrent for potential offenders.
He made these remarks during the launch of the 2025 Winneba Masquerade Festival, scheduled to take place on January 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Winneba Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Kassim Zubairu, appealed to the community to unite and focus on continuing ongoing developmental projects in the area.
Additionally, Nana Yaw Asamoah, leader of the Winneba youth groups and organizer of the 2025 Masquerade Festival, called on the government to prioritize tourism as a means to boost the local economy.
