I will sacrifice my life to end Fulani menace – Minister

-

Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has declared war on Fulani herdsmen causing havoc in the area.
He is of the firm belief that since he is fighting for a good cause, he is ever ready to sacrifice his life for the people of Agogo in the Asante Akyem district of the Ashanti Region.
Hon. Osei Mensah made the comment while reacting to the shooting of four soldiers and one Police officer by some Fulani herdsmen at Agogo when the military men stormed an area where the nomads were feeding their cattle.
The security men who are part of the Operation Cow Leg were in the area to ensure law and order when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, the Ashanti Regional Minister said he will deal with the issue on the grounds to protect the people of Agogo.
He stressed that, no amount of intimidation from cattle owners will deter him from protecting lives and property in the town.
”Let me tell you something I can never be intimidated maybe you don’t know me well and I want everybody to understand that” he opined.
Hon. Osei Mensah could not fathom why cattle owners are making ugly noises when their cows are killed when they destroy the farms of indigenes.
“Why are we asking as ostriches, when these Fulani herdsmen are causing havoc in Agogo. Even in the North where they are so many cows, these stupid things are not happening” he fumed.
