Head coach of newly promoted side, Karela FC has admitted that the lack of confidence on the part of his team is the cause of their loss to Accra Hearts of Oak in the ongoing GHALCA G8.
The former Asante Kotoko trainer admits his side were overwhelmed by the presence of Hearts of Oak and admits he needs to work on the psyche and confidence of his players.
”My players were shivering because it was their first match in the Premier division. It was against Hearts of Oak; very few players can stand such a match, so, if my boys were jittery, it’s understandable because they are now gearing up for the top flight league,” Johnson Smith said.
Hearts of Oak beat the Nzema based side by a goal to no; record their first win in the GHALCA G8 tournament in Cape Coast on Saturday.
Midfielder Isaac Mensah scored the only goal of the game.
