Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Sarfo Oduro, has clarified the reason behind GFA President Kurt Okraku’s silence following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan, Nana Pooley.
It has been over a week since Pooley was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants at Nana Kronmansah Park during the Matchday 19 fixture between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
However, Okraku’s lack of public response has sparked widespread concern.
Addressing the issue, Sarfo Oduro explained that Okraku is currently unwell and out of the country, preventing him from making a statement on the matter.
“Since the incident occurred, he has not spoken publicly. The reason is that Kurt is not feeling well and is currently not in the country. If he was well, he would have been the first to visit Kotoko’s camp. Once he recovers and returns safely, he will be here,” Oduro Sarfo said during a meeting between the GFA delegation and Asante Kotoko’s leadership in Kumasi.
Meanwhile, Nana Apinkra has issued a strong warning to the GFA, declaring that Kotoko will not resume football activities unless their concerns are fully addressed.
