Why I want to be National Organiser only – Yaw Boateng Gyan explains [Audio]

-

Former National organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Yaw Boateng Gyan says he is not interested in any position in the party except for that of the national organiser.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Wednesday, Mr Boateng Gyan said having worked as an organiser in different regions and performed creditably well, he believes he is competent enough to deliver again.

“Aside from the national organiser and having such organisational skills, I am capable of doing that job that will help the party to win the 2020 elections and the organiser position is the only post I can handle and handle very well,” he said.

He explained that he has had some broad consultations with some party faithful and some of the leadership in the party and therefore ready to serve the party.

Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan lost his seat to Kofi Adams, spokesperson of former President Jerry John Rawlings at the National Delegates Congress of the party.

Kofi Adams polled 2,543 votes while he polled 734 votes.

Mr Boateng Gyan is of the firm conviction that the party needs people who are dedicated and devoted to working very hard like himself to ensure that the party is brought back to power.

He, however, urged party members not to dwell on his age because his age doesn’t matter as far as serving his party is concerned.

“[An] organiser is not always about moving rounds. Yes, that is important but saying that my age won’t allow me is not right. I am not thinking about my age. Even Nana Addo who we all thought was very old could be a president and so it’s not about age but your competence. I will be very comfortable to perform,” he stated.
