The Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan William has broken silence on why he resigned from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.
The renowned man of God in October 2023 announced his resignation from the Board in the wake of controversies on the project.
Alongside Reverend Eastwood Anaba who was also a member, the duo said their decision is based on the failure of the government to appoint an independent accounting firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of all public funds contributed to the project.
Ten months down the line, Archbishop Duncan-Williams has explained that, he was not in the position to make a difference on the board.
The Archbishop was speaking at a collaborative dialogue with some prophets in Accra, Wednesday.
“Let the good of Ghana be above any loyalty to any political party. People have always asked me which political party I belong to because sometimes they say I am NDC and sometimes they say I am NPP.
“They say I was NPP because I was on the National Cathedral Board, it was one of the reasons I delayed stepping down after a while when I had some concerns. One of the reasons I left is I believe if I am in a place and I can’t make a difference, then it is better I leave quietly. I don’t want to become an enemy. I don’t like fighting people,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Peace Council has urged prophets to refrain from predicting the outcome of elections saying it has the potential to create unnecessary tensions and divide their congregations who belong to different political groupings.
