Why I don’t want to call myself Queen of Gospel music – Esther Smith [Listen]

-

Gospel legend, Esther Smith has humbly stated that despite her numerous hit songs, she does not consider herself the greatest or the Queen of Gospel music.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, she explained her stance.

“When you start calling yourself the queen or the greatest, it attracts envy and jealousy. I prefer to stay in my corner, do what I love, and continue blessing others through my music” she said.

When the host suggested that she could consider herself the best in gospel music, Esther Smith responded, “There are others who have done more than I have, and I’m not worried about that. I have many songs, and I am always willing to support others.”

According to her, she will not stop singing because her songs have blessed many people.

However, she added, “I cannot claim to be better than every other gospel artiste in Ghana.”

After the resounding success of her Esther Smith Live Concert in Kumasi, the legendary musician is set to bring her spirit-lifting performance to Accra on Friday, August 30, at the Perez Dome.

She shared the purpose behind her concert.

“It’s not just about dancing to the music; it’s about having an encounter with God. The event will be a blessing to everyone who attends” the veteran musician stated.

Esther Smith is expected to perform her popular songs, including “Nipa,” “Wanimonyam So,” and “Ma Wonsa,” at the concert.

Other artistes who will minister on the night include Pastor Joe Beecham, OJ, Morris Babyface, and DSP Kofi Sarpong.
