After news emerged that Shatta Wale had been featured on Beyoncé’s soundtrack album featuring other acts such as Wizkid, Jay Z, Yemi Alade, Kendrick, Burna Boy among other stars for the new ‘Lion King’ movie, some people expressed shock.
Some thought it was for just hype until portals such as Adomonline.com confirmed it was true.
A lot of rumours have circulated on how Beyoncé located ‘local champion’ Shatta Wale for such an international project.

Speaking on the issue, Shatta Wale said critics don’t get to him.
According to him, all the negative and positive stories circulating around him in the media space formed part of the reason he was chosen by Beyoncé.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Friday, Shatta explained how he was selected for the ‘Lion King’ project.

“White people [sic] before they go on a mission, they will sit with the team and discuss issues. I believe they read everything about me and my controversies and things I have done.
“The message in the song is like my story. I have listened to the whole project and I think she followed my life story. Everything about me is the reason I won the feature. Whether good or bad, you have to congratulate me,” Shatta said to Andy Dosty.
Shatta Wale thanked Beyoncé and his team for the move and also Major Lazer, the producer behind the ‘Already’ song.
