As the date for this year’s edition of the Ghana Dance Industry Awards (GHADI) approaches, conversations about the deserving winners in the various categories are heating up.
Ahead of the event, the Dancer of the Year category, which is the ultimate award, has already sparked controversy. The nominees include Dancegod Llyod, Afronitaaa, Endurance Grand, Incredible Zigi, Bboy Lyricx, and Ezunte Flex.
Supporters of the various nominees have taken to social media to rally behind their favorites, highlighting their contributions to the dance industry over the past year.
Other categories for the awards include Dance Athlete of the Year, Traditional Dance Group of the Year, Street Dance Group of the Year, and Praise Dance Group of the Year.
Additionally, there will be honorary awards presented to industry individuals who have made significant contributions to the dance sector in Ghana.
The GHADI Awards aims to celebrate Ghanaian dance icons and stakeholders who have significantly contributed to the development of dance throughout the year.
The event is set to bring together all the key figures in the dance community, some of whom will perform at the grand ceremony.
The inaugural edition of the GHADI Awards, held in 2021, honored dance legends such as Adjetey Sowah, Akosua Agyapong, Reggie Rockstone, Terry Bright Ofosu, and twenty other dance personalities and institutions.
The 2025 edition, the second of its kind, will take place at the National Theatre on February 8, 2025.
