Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has hit back at claims that his licence has been revoked by the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) for his failure to fight in a rematch bout with Bastie Samir.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Okay Fm, monitored by Adomonline.com, the boxer refuted claims that his licence had been revoked.
“GBA has not revoked my licence, no one can take away my licence. They are just rumours, who can take away my licence as a senior boxer in the country, what have I done?,” he quizzed.

Addressing a statement from the GBA ordering him to pay GH¢ 17,000.00 to the Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Promotions, Alex Ntiamoah, Bukom Banku explained that the said amount was an amount he owed him and would pay after his upcoming bout on December 21 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The boxer also revealed that his decision to decline a rematch bout with his fellow boxer Bastie Samir, was due to weight differences, the main reason for his first defeat in the first bout with him.
