WhatsApp users can now access their accounts on multiple devices without having to sign out and in again.
The feature, which has been in development for more than three years, was officially rolled out by WhatsApp in 2022.
With the multi-device feature, users can link extra phones to their main device, rather than being limited to adding non-phone devices.
All messages, calls, photos, videos, and voice recordings are end-to-end encrypted on all devices.
WhatsApp has set a limit of four additional devices, meaning a total of five devices can be linked to one main phone.
The feature also allows small business owners to use company WhatsApp accounts to respond to customers from their own phones.
If the primary device is inactive for 14 days, all companion devices will be automatically logged out.
WhatsApp plans to add support for other types of devices in the future.
