We’ve no interest in property demolition at Cantonments, Labone – Office of Veep

-

The Office of the Vice President has denied involvement in the alleged unlawful entry and demolition of properties in the Cantonments and Labone areas.

The Office has said the perpetrators claimed to have acted on behalf of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

However, the Veep’s office has said no officer or agent has been authorised to engage in any activities involving lands or properties in these areas.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Vice President’s spokesperson, Gideon Boako.

“We wish to place on record that the Vice President or his Office does not have any interest in any property in the Cantonments and Labone areas where such acts are alleged to have occurred,” part of the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Office has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare and the police hierarchy to work with the victims to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure legal action is taken.

“We are by this release, calling on the general public to treat as false, any information contrary to the position stated above,” the statement added.
