The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned what it describes as violent attacks of the party’s sympathisers in the just-ended election.
The party has served a strong warning to the National Democratic Congress(NDC) of its intent to respond very fiercely and harshly if the attacks are not stopped.
The NPP National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha sounded the warning in an interview with Accra-based TV3.
Their retaliation, he explained, should be understood as defense of personal security and liberty, alleging the Police have failed to act.
“I want to sound this warning that if the attack doesn’t stop, we will retaliate. We will mobilise very soon and counter. The police is not doing anything and we will not sit and watch,” he said.
This comes at a time NDC supporters have massed up at the Greater Accra Regional Collation Centre of the Electoral Commission(EC) demanding the declaration of three seats in their favour.
The seats in contention are the Ablekuma North, Okaikwei Central and Dome-Kwabenya.
However, Mustapha has said the NDC’s claims of winning these seats are not true.
“By close of the day, we wish to bring finality to the matter. I will encourage our supporters to be motived. We are down but not broken,” he added.
