The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said the next NDC government will investigate, arrest and prosecute persons, who stabbed a 28-year-old teacher trainee graduate, Silas Wulochamey to death at Banda Kabrono in the Bono Region, during the 2020 voter registration exercise.
“Any person involved in the killing of Wulochamey will not walk freely under the NDC administration unless he flees from the country. We will investigate, arrest and make sure the person is prosecuted for his soul to rest well,” he said.
Mr Nketiah was speaking at mini rallies at Banda Boase and Bui in the Banda Constituency in the Bono Region, as part of his seven-day campaign tour of the region.
“Wulochamey cannot die just like a dog. We will bring the perpetrator to book,” he said.

Wulochamey met his untimely death after he was allegedly stabbed by some people believed to be supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Banda Kabrono in the Bono Region.
The unfortunate incident happened on Monday, July 13, 2020, when Wulochamey was returning from a visit to his pastor at Wenchi Methodist.
At Kabrono, near Banda Ahenkro, his killers stopped the vehicle he was travelling with other passengers, forced him down and stabbed him.
He died while on admission at Wenchi Methodist hospital.
During the 2020 voter registration exercise, violence erupted in the Banda District, particularly at Kabrono, Banda Ahenkroh, Bongase, Surogbo and Nyire because the NPP and NDC accused each other of wrongdoing.
It was in the violence that led to his tragic death.
Innocent, shock
Mr Nketia said there was a clear indication that the deceased was innocent about the violence that occurred in the area.
He expressed shock that after four years of the incident, the police had not made any arrest in connection with the incident.
Mr Nketia said Wulochamey’s death was among several incidents that occurred during the 2020 general election that NDC refused to sign the peace pact ahead of the 2024 elections.
He said the party would not commit to any peace engagement unless the government arrested and prosecuted the perpetrators.
Mr Nketia appealed to the chiefs and people of the area to vote for the NDC to look for the killers.
However, he suspended the tour on Sunday to attend an emergency meeting conveyed by the party to discuss issues on the Supreme Court ruling that halted the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin’s declaration of the seats of four Members of Parliament (MP) vacant.
