We won’t allow electoral malpractice to undermine the will of the people – Dean of NDC Chairmen

The Oti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Dean of Chairmen, John Gyapong Kudjo, has assured Ghanaians that the party will take all necessary measures to protect their votes during the elections on December 7.

He has emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the democratic process in Ghana.

According to him, Ghanaians want to see the NDC return to power but they are afraid that their votes will not be protected.

Mr Kudjo was addressing the media after presenting a petition to the officials at the Electoral Commission(EC) Regional office in Nkwanta South after the ‘Enough is Enough’ demo on Tuesday.

He stressed the importance of vigilance on election day, urging citizens to remain engaged and proactive in safeguarding their democratic rights.

“We are here to assure you that we will not allow any form of electoral malpractice to undermine the will of the people,” he stated passionately.

The demonstration, which drew a significant crowd, highlighted the NDC’s determination to ensure that every vote counts and that the electoral process remains fair and just.

He highlighted the need for vigilance among party members and the general public to ensure that the integrity of the electoral system is maintained.

The call for transparency and accountability was echoed by Nkwanta South MP Geoffrey Kini, Wisdom Gidisu of Krachi East, Fred Agbanyo NDC parliamentary candidate for Guan and some executives and party supporters who joined the demonstration in warning against any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.

They underscored concerns about potential irregularities in the electoral process, which could undermine the will of the Ghanaian people.

Receiving the petition, the Oti Regional EC officer Nuhu Mahama, noted that institution has recognized the concerns raised.

He assured the NDC party members that their petition would be forwarded to the chairperson for further consideration.

The EC officer called for effective collaboration between political parties to continue working together in the interest of Ghana and the democracy being cherish by all.
