We will not underrate Basake Holy Stars – Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has acknowledged that the only real threat Basake Holy Stars can pose in their upcoming match is if his team underestimates them.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to face the Ghana Premier League newcomers in a Matchday 8 encounter at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday.

Ahead of the match, Narteh Ogum emphasized that his team will not make the mistake of underestimating Holy Stars, as they are focused on securing all three points.

“I think the only threat they can pose to us is when we underrate them. It’s a psychological thing; if we underrate them, then it will go against us but then if we take them to be like any other side in the Ghana Premier League and approach them with the attitude we use to play against any of the other renowned sides in the league, I think there wouldn’t be any threat,” he said.

Asante Kotoko currently sits second in the league standings with 14 points and has an outstanding match against Legon Cities, scheduled to be played on Wednesday, October 30, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Basake Holy Stars have struggled for consistency since their impressive win over Hearts of Oak in the league opener at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They have managed two wins, one draw, and four losses in their first seven matches of the season.
