We will fight to turn around our fortunes – Hearts of Oak assistant coach

Hearts of Oak assistant coach, Nana Yaw Amankwah has assured that the technical team is committed to turning around the club’s fortunes after a challenging start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians currently sit at the bottom of the league table, having lost both of their opening matches.

They began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium, followed by a 2-0 loss to Heart of Lions at Kpando Stadium.

In light of these disappointing results, Amankwah is optimistic about the team’s future.

“We will fight to turn the fortunes of Hearts of Oak. That is our mission for the season and we are hoping things will be fine” he said.

“There is no pressure and as coaches, we are trying as much as we can to change the situation of Hearts of Oak. We have nothing to do unless we change the situation,” he added.

Hearts of Oak will be looking to claim their first win of the season when they face Bechem United in the third matchday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
