We will defend our properties until the last person dies – Dombeabra chiefs and residents

-

Chiefs and residents of Dombeabra have staged a demonstration against a developer named Asare over an unlawful eviction carried out on Thursday.

As reported by Adom News, Police officers from the Greater Accra Region fired multiple gunshots to disperse the crowd after residents of Dombeabra clashed with them during the eviction.

Over 60 Police officers and more than 200 suspected land guards accompanied the developer to evict residents from their homes, claiming he had obtained a judgment from the High Court.

But the Krotiahene of Dombeabra, Nii Ayitey Oku, asserted that Dombeabra has existed for 400 years and they will not allow anyone to evict them from their land.

Meanwhile, some sub-chiefs have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and President Akufo-Addo to intervene to maintain peace and order in Dombeabra, especially with the upcoming election year.
