The Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Mark Addo has pledged to appoint the most qualified coach for the team.
The Black Stars are presently without a head coach after parting ways with Chris Hughton due to the team’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
A special committee has been tasked to recommend a suitable candidate to the Executive Council for approval.
In an interview, Mark Addo emphasized his commitment to selecting the ideal coach for the Black Stars.
He disclosed that, the committee has received over 500 applications for the position.
“This isn’t my first time leading a committee to select a coach, and I assure Ghanaians that we will secure the finest coach for the Black Stars based on stringent criteria,” remarked Addo during an interview with Akoma FM.
“We have received an overwhelming response with over 500 applications, and we have now shortlisted a select few. We are diligently reviewing each candidate and aim to conclude the process by next week” Mr. Addo stated.
Addressing concerns about the team’s performance, Addo reiterated the committee’s determination to achieve positive outcomes.
“No one is more invested in the success of the team than us at the Football Association. While challenges may arise, we remain steadfast in our commitment to progress,” he added.
