We were the better side against Asante Kotoko – Young Apostles coach

Young Apostles coach Joseph Asare-Bediako has praised his team’s tactical execution in their 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko.

The newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side put up a strong performance in their Matchday 3 fixture on Sunday, holding the Porcupine Warriors to a draw at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Young Apostles took the lead through Daniel Lomotey, who scored early to put his side ahead.

However, Asante Kotoko’s Emmanuel Antwi struck a stunning equalizer just minutes before the final whistle, salvaging a point for the home side in their first home game of the 2024/25 season.

In his post-match comments, Asare-Bediako highlighted his team’s preparation and confidence going into the game, emphasizing that his side outperformed their opponents tactically.

“We were prepared to face Asante Kotoko squarely,” Asare-Bediako said.

“Our tactics worked to perfection; tactically, we were better,” he added.

Young Apostles will now look to build on this result when they host Aduana Stars at the Wenchi Sports Stadium, while Asante Kotoko will travel to face Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in the Matchday 4 fixtures this weekend.
