The Paramount Chief of the Mampong Traditional Area, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, has expressed confidence in the abilities of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Vice Presidential candidate, to effectively support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer, in the upcoming general elections.

During a courtesy visit by Dr. Opoku Prempeh and his entourage to the Mamponghene’s palace as part of his campaign tour in the Mampong Constituency, the chief acknowledged the deep ties he shares with Napo.

He mentioned knowing him since childhood due to the close relationship between Napo’s father, the late Apagyahene, and himself.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II added that, their paths crossed again at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) when he served as the registrar, and Napo was a student.

Based on this long-standing connection, the Mamponghene affirmed his confidence in Napo’s abilities.

“I have seen your capabilities over the years, and I have no doubt you will work hard to ensure Dr. Bawumia’s success,” the chief noted.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II further blessed Dr. Opoku Prempeh and expressed his hope that the NPP will emerge victorious in the December 2024 elections.

He wished the Vice Presidential candidate and his team success in their endeavours.
