An aggrieved worker of PBC Limited, Frederick Kwame Boachie has revealed he and his colleagues now survive on the benevolence of their wives.
According to him, PBC workers can barely make ends meet or feed their families.
Mr Boachie who is the Akim Oda District Manager of PBC disclosed this in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Thursday.
He said that but for their caring and supportive wives, life would have been unbearable, adding some have already suffered the brunt of their unpaid salaries.
“There are about 750 permanent workers but almost 30,000 including cocoa clerks. Our wives are the one taking care of us with the little money from their businesses.
“Some wives who can no longer handle the situation have left their husbands to their fate,” he lamented.
PBC workers have been in the news the past days over their one-year unpaid salaries.
On Wednesday, they marched to PBC’s headquarters in Dzorwulu, Accra to express their frustration over the situation.
This follows a similar demonstration held by PBC staff in the Ashanti region on May 29, 2024.
