We need a licensed driver to take over the vehicle – Mahama jabs Bawumia

-

The flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has responded to remarks made by his main contender, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mahama emphasized that Ghana requires an experienced and “licensed driver” to steer the nation forward.

Dr Bawumia, during a recent media interaction, highlighted that he has never served as President, unlike Mahama, and urged the electorate to consider this as they cast their votes.

In response, Mahama, speaking at a community engagement as part of his Greater Accra regional campaign, criticized Dr. Bawumia and the NPP for what he described as a “failed attempt” to distract Ghanaians from the NDC’s manifesto launch by hosting a media engagement the day after.

Mahama further accused Bawumia of dishonesty during his media appearance, stating:

“Our youth don’t have the luxury of time. They are our future and also our present. They can’t afford trial and error, where one person tries and dumps us in a ditch, and then the driver’s mate comes and crashes us even further. We need experience; we need someone who has done it before. We need a licensed driver to take over the vehicle and move it to where God has destined,” he asserted.
