Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has described the Afarobarmeter report on the Akufo-Addo led government economic performance as good feedback to government.
The latest Afrobarometer report indicated about 59 per cent of Ghanaians feel the country is going in the wrong direction while only 35 per cent felt the country was in the right direction.

However, speaking in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM, Mr Hadzide explained the report points “to the fact that the people do recognise and appreciate that this administration inherited a very challenging economy.”
He added the report is an indication that measures put in place by the Akufo-Addo government are good work in progress and government take it as feedback.
“We have had to reverse the decline that the economy was facing when we took over and stabilised it,” he said.

The new Afrobarometer survey by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) revealed Ghanaians’ approval ratings on indicators of their government’s economic performance have declined sharply compared to 2017.
The survey also suggests that majority of citizens say government is performing “fairly badly” or “very badly” in narrowing income gaps (66%), improving the living standards of the poor (56%), and creating jobs (54%).
