Water supply to parts of Accra will be interrupted following a cut in power supply, the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced.

In a statement, the company indicated that the cut in power supply has made it impossible to pump or supply water from the Dodowa Booster Station which serves the North-Eastern part of Accra. 

Power supply to the Dodowa Booster Station was curtailed following the recent destruction of some electrical cables that feed the station.

Affected areas, the statement indicated, are Dodowa, Frafraha, Adentan and Ogbojo. The others are Madina, Ashaley Botwe, Adjirinano, East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic and Ashongman.

The company has asked the general public as well as institutions or organisations in the affected areas to bear with the situation as engineers work together with the Ghana Grid Company to rectify the situation.

GWCL has, however, assured customers it will restore water supply as soon as repair works are completed.

Management of GWCL said any inconvenience caused is regretted.
