Residents of Ahwiam and its environs in the Ningo-Prampram District have been grappling with a severe water crisis.

The protracted issue has left residents desperate and frustrated.

For years, Ahwiam and its adjoining communities have struggled without access to clean drinking water.

The residents, who are yet to receive any information from relevant authorities on the issue, have resorted to using contaminated water from dugouts since the only available stream is drying up.

According to them, all attempts to get the assembly member to help address their concerns have not yielded any results.

In an interview with Adom News, some residents shared their struggles, emphasizing the urgent need for a sustainable water supply solution.

Some school pupils revealed that they dig holes in the dried stream just to scavenge for water.

They appealed to the government and Member of Parliament (MP), Sam Nartey George, to help them secure potable water.
