National Chairman of the People’s National Convention, Bernard Mornah, has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to halt its plans to compile a new Voters Register.

Speaking at a public forum held by the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations on Thursday January 9, Mr Mornah questioned EC’s haste to compile a new Voters Register knowing well the country will soon conduct a population census.
According to him, the convention has been that the EC compiles a new Voters Register based on data provided by the Statistical Service through the population census.

The forum, held by the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, was to determine the feasibility of a new Voters Register for the 2020 general election.
