-

The Black Satellites of Ghana are set to face Côte d’Ivoire in the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU B U20 Championship on Saturday, October 26, 2024, following the conclusion of the group stage matches.

Ghana’s U-20 team, which topped Group A, will compete against Côte d’Ivoire, the runners-up of Group B, for a spot in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for next year.

Meanwhile, Nigeria secured the top spot in Group A after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire in a decisive final Group B match on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The Flying Eagles will now face Niger in the other semi-final clash.

The WAFU B U20 Championship serves as the qualification route for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, with only the finalists earning a spot in the tournament.

The 2025 U20 AFCON will also act as the African qualifiers for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, with the top four teams from the tournament automatically qualifying for the World Cup.
