The Acting Paramount Chief of the Volo Traditional Area in the North Tongu Municipality of the Volta Region, Regent Bennett Koblah Appleh, has made a passionate appeal to the government, non-governmental organizations, and benevolent individuals to support the community with much-needed social amenities.
Speaking during the 2025 edition of the Volo Tugbedzo Festival, themed “Tugbedzoza – A Catalyst for Accelerated Development: Harnessing the Economic Potentials of Volo,” Regent Appleh highlighted the numerous developmental challenges facing the area.
Despite these setbacks, he said the community has made significant strides in sectors such as education, health, agriculture, peace, and security through local resource mobilization.
He stressed that more external support is needed to sustain and accelerate development in the area.
In response, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, assured the chief, elders, and people of Volo of the government’s commitment to addressing the issues raised.
He encouraged the community to remain hopeful as steps are being taken to bring tangible improvements to their lives.
