Video: We share classroom with snakes – Agona Nyarkrom pupils

-

Residents of Agona Nyarkrom in the Agona West Municipality in the Central Region have turned the Agona Nyarkrom SDA Government School into a kitchen, pupils of the school have alleged.

The school is in such a dilapidated state that pupils have had to sometimes contend with snakes during contact hours.

The pupils say there are occasions when they had to halt their studies because a snake may have found its way to the classroom.

A source close to the school said a number of reports sent to the Ghana Education Service on the behaviour of the unscrupulous people who use the classrooms for cooking have yielded no action.

The bad nature of the school also means the school is at the mercy of the weather, forcing it to close anytime the weather threatened to rain.
