Two women, a market woman and a student at the St Loius College of Education, have been killed after a tipper truck with registration number AS 9817 loaded with several bags of cement run into them at Race Course, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Nhyira FM’s Awuku Malik reported on Adom Midday News that the truck run into the women at a market near the St Louis College of Education in Kumasi.
The accident occurred on Monday August 7.
Eye witnesses say the accident was caused by brake failure.
“The car was parked at the top of the hill with no driver in it. All of a sudden it took off and one driver who was sitting around ran to steer it into the bushes. It dragged off a woman who sells her wares beside the road.
“A student of St Louis who had just been offered admission was also standing by the mobile money vendor waiting for some money she was cashing to go pay her fees and she was also killed,” the eye witness narrated.
The other injured were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospitals for medical attention.
