VIDEO: Rawlings must know how to talk – Kufuor

-

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has lashed out at his predecessor Jerry John Rawlings stating that the former Military dictator must know what to say and accord him some respect.
The National Democratic Congress founder has on several occasions attacked Mr. Kufuor describing him as corrupt.
But speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday evening, former President Kufuor told host Bola Ray that Rawlings’ incessant attacks on him are unfounded.
According to him, Mr. Rawlings must confront him if he has an issue with him.
“I would have preferred being friendly with him but every now and then somehow he will burst out saying unfounded things about me and making me feel awkward.
“I am not worried because I keep a free mind…for the sake of our society naturally I would want the relationship to be quite normal…he was the longest serving Head of State, he should be guided by above all himself, he should know what to say and what not to say.
“I keep an open and I wish he keeps the same, if he really feels there is something Kufuor has done, he rather should approach me to find out.”
Mr. Agyekum Kufuor was born on 8 December 1938. He was President of Ghana from 7 January 2001 to 7 January 2009.
His victory over John Evans Atta Mills after the end of Jerry Rawlings’ second term marked the first peaceful democratic transition of power in Ghana since independence in 1957.
He was a minister in Kofi Abrefa Busia’s Progress Party government during Ghana’s Second Republic and a Popular Front Party opposition frontbencher during the Third Republic.
In the Fourth Republic, he stood as the New Patriotic Party’s candidate at the 1996 election, and then led it to victory in 2000 and 2004.
