A video is making the rounds on social media of police officer identified as Sergeant Kwaku Owusu Ansah allegedly taking bribe from some suspected criminals.
Preliminary information available to adomonline.com suggests the police officer is stationed at the Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command in the Central Region.
Information gathered by Adom News’ Central Regional Correspondent, Alfred Amoh, so far, suggests the suspects were busted by Sgt Owusu Ansah and his colleagues when they were returning from a patrol.

Sgt Owusu Ansah, however, secretly negotiated a bail with the suspects for GHc2,000. Unknown to him, however, Sgt Ansah was captured on camera where he was heard giving assurances of releasing the suspects on condition that they are able to give him the said amount of money.
“I have a friend called Alkaline who has brought eight of his guys to me and gave me money which I took and so I have ways of protecting these guys without being tormented by the police,” he said.

Sgt Ansah, after taking the negotiated amount from the suspects, promised to part with half of it to a colleague who will assist him in protecting their interest even though he was careful not to count the money in their presence.
It is not yet clear who did the filming of the negotiations and the subsequent release of the video but readers can but assured that adomonline.com will dig deep to bring out the remaining facts.
