Video: My wife is in coma over DNA news – Family of kidnapped girls

-

Police confirmation of the deaths of four missing Takoradi girls has sent a relative of one of the girls into coma.

At a news conference to react to the police announcement, Emmanuel Cobbinah Anzah, grandfather of Ruth Abakah, one of the missing girls, said his wife collapsed on hearing the announcement by the Ag Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh.

The IGP said at a press conference Monday, that the results of the DNA tests on remains retrieved in Takoradi have firmed that the human remains are those of Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18; Ruth Love Quayson 18, and Ruth Abeka.

The family has expressed outrage at the announcement.

“In the culture of Ghanaians, according to the norms and values, when someone dies, it is the head of the family we inform and it must be done in the day, not night.

“Because of this, my wife collapsed. When she heard the IGP said that the bones are those of the children and that they are dead, she collapsed. From yesterday to today we have not revived her,” Mr Anzah recounted.
