VIDEO: Former KASSTECH caterer confirms theft of students’ food items to Fabewoso

-

A former caterer at Kade Senior High Technical School (KASSTECH) has revealed how matrons smuggle food items meant for students under the Free Senior High School scheme to make a living.

Speaking in an interview with Captain Smart on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, she revealed that instead of salaries, they are given some of the Free SHS food supplies to cater for themselves.

“Yes, they steal food items; They take anything ranging from maize, milk, beans, mackerel, sugar et cetera in order to sell for cash”, she revealed.

Asked if she informed any of the school authorities about the alleged thefts in the school, the former staff answered in the affirmative, indicating that he told one school bursar who did nothing about it.

“Three of us informed the then bursar but he secretly informed the matron we lodged the complaint against. She made us aware she knew and cursed us indirectly”, she revealed.

She believes the thefts are networked by some of the authorities hence any staff trying to investigate them are sidelined.

“They weren’t paying us so they shared the food items like rice and sometimes maize among us. We complained to the District Director of Education but before we got to the school, the headmaster had already heard we visited her. We went to the labour commission too and they did nothing”, she alleged.
