The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has given the government two weeks ultimatum to stop foreigners doing retail business in the country, else it will take the law into its own hands to end the menace.
Spokesperson for the Association, Mr Francis Anum, said several efforts on successive governments to apply the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Law which forbids foreigners to engage in retail have proven futile and it is time for the Association to act on its own.
According to the group, it is in full support of colleagues at the Kumasi Suame Magazine for fighting for their rights.
Mr Anum called on the police to release their members who have been arrested in Kumasi.
The Spare Parts Dealers said they are disappointed in successive governments for failing them and are ready to fight to save their businesses.
